Description of the business:

Business making products in sheet metal: packaging, folding, cutting, welding - about 30 employees

Problem to be solved:

Reduction in time between shifts and maintenance on a cutting press for sheet metal in different forms and materials

Methods used:
- Improved SMED (Single Minute Exchange Die) with assistance in production time and technique
- Training workers and technicians in the method
- Study and improvement of the shift, based on 5S
- Investigate technical solutions
- Weekly on-site assistance

The changeover time is halved: 60 mins instead of the initial 120 mins, in 7 months.
